The background
Did you know that companies waste 10% of their resource due to poor performance, and employees are experiencing burn out more than ever? Since the pandemic employees have been working more hours, taking fewer breaks, and having fewer meaningful human-to-human interactions. This not only affects people’s mental wellbeing, but also our effectiveness at work.
Practicing regular activities like journaling, yoga, mindfulness and resilience building helps to counteract these wellbeing challenges. They help to inspire idea generation, creativity, and reduce the chances of burnout and mental health issues. However, when left to our own devices, employees can struggle to find the time to practice these positive habits.
The opportunity
Through Smartline’s idea generation grant, Utopy is building the first habitual wellbeing app for employees. The online platform will offer workplace activities – for example yoga sessions, breathwork, journaling activities and resilience training.
This new wellbeing service will help teams to embed these everyday habits into their calendars to improve mental health and drive a more positive workplace culture.
